Pricing and intake

Estimates that price themselves, to the cent.

Measure the quilt, pick the design and tier, and every line works itself out: quilting, thread, batting, backing, binding, extras, discounts and tax. What you see is what the customer gets.

Editing the estimate for Spring Stars 2026: a quilting row with its tier, design and placement, a thread priced per quilt, and the running summary of every line, the tax and the total.
An estimate in progress. Every line shows its quantity, rate and amount as you type.

A unit on every price

Each quilting tier carries its own unit, so an edge-to-edge at a rate per square inch, a custom border by the hour and a flat charge per quilt sit side by side on one estimate.

  • Square inch, square foot, square yard, square meter, hour, per quilt or per turn
  • A minimum charge per tier, with the estimate saying when the minimum kicked in
  • Several quilting rows per quilt: whole top, borders, blocks or a custom area, each with its own design
The quilting tiers in the Library: each tier has a rate with its unit, here per square inch, plus columns for a minimum charge, rounding and how often it is used.
Quilting tiers, each with its own unit and minimum.

Thread, batting, backing and binding, measured for you

The quantities come from the quilt's size and your allowances, not from mental math at the counter.

  • Thread from a grid: groups A, B and C, priced per quilt, per bobbin or per square yard
  • Batting by the linear inch, yard or package, with the side across the roll chosen and a warning when the quilt won't fit
  • Backing by the yard, wide or pieced, rounded to the quarter, half or whole yard
  • Binding by the perimeter plus your allowance, per inch, foot or yard

Discounts and tax that can't go stale

Take a percent or a fixed amount off one line or the whole invoice, and it recalculates whenever that line changes. Services and goods can carry different sales tax rates, and every amount rounds to the cent the same way the printed invoice does.

From the counter to the customer's inbox

Save the intake and the estimate emails itself to the customer, who approves it from their portal page. Need to change something? Edit the estimate while nothing's been paid, and the customer sees the new revision. Once money comes in, the agreed lines lock and changes go on as a separate adjustment.

  • Target date buttons for +14, +30, +60 and +90 days, with a hint about how full that week already is
  • A printable intake worksheet, invoice with your own titles and disclaimers, and a 3 x 5 job ticket with a QR code back to the quilt
